When you find yourself deciding what to write about, thus for whom will it be written for, you should consider the audience’s ability to share it. Regular readers will be somewhat active in sharing your page/blog. But particular communities, topics, content, and writing style play better than others on the World Wide Web. Example of that can be well designed and informative Info graphics, well-edited videos that tell a story, and possibly a collection of Facts that would challenge most people common assumptions all targeted at audiences that will most likely share them.

2. Participate in the communities where your targeted audience gathers

All major Advertising companies since the days of Madmen have spent billions of dollars researching and determining where consumers gather and what they spend their time on, so they can target them with their messages. They won’t target a group of 60+ years old women with commercials for surfing equipment because it will a waste of money, but reaching 18-30-year-old males and females demographics that attends surfing stores is likely to generate a higher ROI.

With internet traffic is the same, but you don’t need to spend a dime on research because thanks to social media, blogs, and other online communities you already know where your targeted audience gathers, so it’s just a matter of timing and well-written material to increase your traffic.

Now that we are near to the second decade of the twenty-first-century search engines have become quintessential and therefore a massive opportunity for you to increase traffic.

Making SEO friendly content for your site or blog when done properly will increase your traffic up to 80%.

Twitter has over 300 million active users every month. Facebook reaches over a billion active users, Google + ring in over 300 million and LinkedIn also has over 300 million. Those look like good numbers, right? And they are, these networks combined are constantly attracting vast amounts of time and interest from internet users. Which means that in that social media universe, you will find people you will share and comment on your Website or Blog. But leveraging from this networks to attract traffic requires patience, study, attention to details on the changes in social sites changes.

Using Google Analytics (which is free by the way) you can see where visits originate, which sources generate quality traffic. Using Analytics is critical for building traffic, you’ll know where you are succeeding and where you have the most opportunity.

If you are a talented artist that can produce graphics, take pictures, illustrate or make interesting doodles on MS Paint then you can use your talents on your site. By uploading and hosting this images you create yet another traffic source for your site via Image Search and improve the engagement and enjoyment of your visitors.

When using images for your site it’s highly recommended that you create ways to allow others to use them on their sites legally and with permission but in a way that benefits you as the creator.

7. Use Keyword research while writing your posts

A big part of your site popping up on search engines is targeting terms and phrases your audience type into their search engine. In order to know these words you’ll have to do some research, but luckily for us, Google has a free tool that can help with that.

AdWords Keyword Planner is very easy to use, simply type the words, hit search, and AdWord will show you the phrases matching the intent and terms you’ve used.

Readers appreciate links, as well as bloggers, site owners, and search engine. Referencing your own material in a way that is not manipulative, you’ll draw visitors.
